Spring's Rebirth, Easter, and Ukraine
I look at the beauty of nature on my farm, here, in central Virginia, the joy I feel with the swelling buds, growing shoots, and opening flowers. It is nearly impossible to reconcile with the devastation unleashed on the Ukrainian people and state. While the latter is so heartbreaking and, simultaneously, deeply humbling. This brings me to a deep place of contemplation that may be part of my Christian upbringing: Lenten sacrifice and Easter's joy for the Resurrection. This year, I am pulled to embrace these weighty matters...
AND if you live near me, I wanted to let you know about a beautiful addition to our community; in case you have not heard - there is a new retreat center to support our journeys: The Mountain Light Retreat Center (7035 BLACKWELLS HOLLOW RD CROZET, VA 22932), north of WhiteHall on Browns Gap Turnpike, just past The Byrom Forest Preserve. Their website is not up yet, but see the attached poster - they will be open on specific days & times for contemplation... I will be there. Thank you, Debbie, for providing this needed holding for these times. You can contact info@mountainlightrerteatva.com.
